Ed Tice, a native of the Texas Panhandle, has established his home in the heartland of America. For 20 years, he resided in Tipton, Indiana, and now lives in Story City, Iowa, with his wife Emily and their two children. Ed’s professional journey in the pork industry spans nearly three decades. His career began with Tyson Fresh Meats, where he contributed significantly as a Senior Hog Buyer and a Corporate Auditor for FarmCheck, Tyson’s animal welfare program. Following this, Ed expanded his expertise at United Animal Health, holding the position of Sales and Business Development Manager for Show Feed and UPPS.
Ed’s current professional endeavors include a partnership with Four County Pig Placement and managing his own venture, Tice LS Enterprises, specializing in Livestock Marketing and Consulting. His commitment to the pork industry is evident through his participation in various committees for the National Pork Board. He has also been an integral part of the Executive Board for Indiana Pork. Ed’s passion for livestock and agriculture extends beyond his professional life. He dedicates his time to youth in these fields, participating as an official at swine events for the National FFA Convention and national collegiate judging contests. Additionally, Ed was a member of the National Junior Swine Association Youth Advisory Board.
In his local community, Ed has been an active member of the Tipton Co. 4-H Council for six years, serving as vice president for one year and president for four years. His involvement with the Indiana State Fair as the Crossbred Breed Manager for the Swine Barn spanned 15 years, further showcasing his dedication to the field.
Ed’s educational background includes attendance at Clarendon College in Clarendon, TX, and Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. Notably, he was part of the 1993 National Championship Livestock Judging Team while at Clarendon College. Outside of his professional and volunteer activities, Ed and his family are avid participants in showing purebred and crossbred livestock. They also enjoy attending their children’s various sporting events and school activities.
